New York Federal Reserve President John Williams argued on Monday that issues such as access to central bank accounts need to be front and center, as reported by Reuters.
“Money market funds and treasury markets can lose liquidity in times of stress,” Williams added. “Demand for the US dollar in paper currency is growing.”
These comments don’t seem to be having a noticeable impact on the greenback”s performance against its major rivals. As of writing, the US Dollar Index was up 0.12% on the day at 91.91.
